Description
This authentic Sudetenland Medal (Medaille zur Erinnerung an den 1. Oktober 1938) was awarded to commemorate the annexation of the Sudetenland on October 1, 1938. The obverse depicts two figures standing on a pedestal bearing the national emblem, symbolizing unity and expansion. The reverse reads: “Ein Volk – Ein Reich – Ein Führer” with the date 1. Oktober 1938, marking the official incorporation of the Sudetenland into the German Reich.
This example is a later zinc-constructed variant, showing the typical grey patina and age-related oxidation associated with wartime production. The medal retains its original suspension ring but is offered without ribbon.
The details remain clearly visible, and the piece shows honest wear consistent with an original period award. It is a genuine example and not a reproduction.
