WWII German Polizei Visor Cap Eagle

Description

This is an Original WWII German Polizei Visor Cap Eagle (Mützenadler). The second pattern police eagle was officially introduced on 25 June 1936 and was worn on the visor caps of the German Ordnungspolizei (Order Police). Together with the national cockade, it formed one of the most recognizable insignia found on German police headgear during the Second World War.

This example is manufactured from aluminum and is maker marked “CTD”, identifying production by Christian Theodor Dicke of Lüdenscheid, a well-known wartime manufacturer of German insignia. The eagle features crisp feather detail, a sharply defined oak leaf wreath and an attractive silver-grey finish.

The badge remains in good original condition with honest signs of age and use. The reverse retains its original attachment hardware, with one attachment pin having a small section missing, as shown in the photographs.

Maker-marked Polizei visor eagles remain highly desirable among collectors of WWII German militaria and are an excellent addition to any police or Third Reich insignia collection.
