WWII German Polizei Visor Cap Eagle

Description

This is an Original WWII German Polizei Visor Cap Eagle (Mützenadler). The second pattern police eagle was officially introduced on 25 June 1936 and was worn on the visor caps of the German Ordnungspolizei (Order Police). Together with the national cockade, it formed one of the most recognizable insignia found on German police headgear during the Second World War.

This example is manufactured from aluminum and is maker marked “JFS”, identifying production by Josef Feix & Söhne of Gablonz, a recognized manufacturer of German military and police insignia during the period. JFS-marked examples of this particular Polizei cap eagle are documented by multiple militaria dealers and collections.

The eagle retains excellent detail throughout, including the finely defined feathers and surrounding oak leaf wreath. The silver-grey finish shows natural age-related wear and patina, giving the piece an attractive original appearance.

The original attachment prongs on the reverse are no longer present, as clearly shown in the photographs. Despite this, the insignia remains a well-preserved and highly recognizable original example, ideal for display or as an addition to a collection of WWII German police insignia.
