Description
This is an authentic WWII Reichsarbeitsdienst (RAD) porcelain mug, manufactured in 1938 and issued for use by RAD personnel. This is a larger variant of the standard RAD service mug, making it particularly impressive as a display piece. The mug is made from sturdy porcelain/stoneware and was intended for daily use by members of the Reich Labour Service, for example for drinking tea or coffee. It is clearly decorated with the RAD emblem, identifying it as official issue. On the underside, it bears the factory stamp โRhenania Duisdorf Bonnโ, a well-known German porcelain manufacturer that produced high-quality tableware and service items during the Third Reich. This adds further historical authenticity and provenance to the piece.
Although the mug has been carefully glued to preserve its integrity, all markings remain clearly visible, making it a collectible relic. Period-marked RAD mugs, especially larger variants, are increasingly difficult to find and provide a fascinating glimpse into the everyday life of RAD personnel during the pre-war and early WWII years. A genuine and well-marked relic, this mug is a strong addition for collectors of WWII German militaria, Reich Labour Service artifacts, or porcelain history.
