Description
This is an original pre-war German Wehrmacht porcelain plate, produced in 1937, making it an early example of military-issued tableware from the Third Reich. The reverse is clearly marked with the Wehrmacht eagle and swastika, along with the manufacturer’s stamp “Rosenthal” and the year 1937. Rosenthal was one of Germany’s most respected porcelain manufacturers and supplied high-quality tableware for military and state use during the pre-war and wartime period.
Plates such as this were issued for use in Wehrmacht mess halls, barracks, and dining facilities, reflecting the everyday life of German soldiers before and during the Second World War. Early-dated pieces like this, produced before the outbreak of war, are increasingly scarce and highly sought after by collectors. This example remains in good original condition, showing only normal age-related wear consistent with its use and age. A genuine historical artifact offering a tangible connection to the early years of the German armed forces under the Third Reich.
