Description
This is an authentic WWII-era Luftwaffe porcelain plate, manufactured in 1938 and issued for use in Luftwaffe canteens and dining facilities. The plate is of standard dinner size and made of quality porcelain. On the front it features the Luftwaffe eagle clutching a swastika, making it immediately recognizable as an item of Luftwaffe issue. The reverse is factory-stamped โH&C Selb Bavaria, Heinrich & Co.โ, the mark of the well-known Bavarian porcelain manufacturer that produced tableware for the German armed forces. This example is in good condition. Early-dated pieces like this (pre-war 1938) are increasingly difficult to find and provide a fascinating glimpse into the everyday life of Luftwaffe personnel before and during the war.
A genuine and well-marked relic, this plate is a highly collectible addition for enthusiasts of WWII German militaria, Luftwaffe artifacts, or porcelain history.
