My name is Chris, I’m 31 years old and my passion is about WW2 history. The silent WW2 reminders in and around my home in Europe nourished my passion for WW2 history while growing up. In 2010, I decided to pick up a metal detector and set out on a journey to recover lost artifacts and their untold stories, that I could share with the world.
I’ve been a Youtuber for about 15 years now. By now I have exceeded the staggering number of 500.000 subscribers!
The real heroes
Many people ask me: “Why don’t you show your face in your videos?”. The videos are about WW2 History, not about me. I never felt the urge to idolize myself, the real heroes are the WW2 veterans that are often the star of my show. In the first few videos on my channel, you can see how I recorded my adventures with my phone. There was no footage of me and not even spoken audio. I wanted the story to be about the finds. Later on, I started narrating my videos, because I believe it adds to the storytelling. Maybe, one day, I will conclude that starring my face is a great addition to the videos. I am wondering if and when this day wil come.
