Description
This authentic Reichsarbeitsdienst (RAD) cap badge is an original pre-war example dated 1937. The badge features the RAD emblem with spade and sheaf design, a symbol strongly associated with the Reichsarbeitsdienst labor organization. Reichsarbeitsdienst cap badges were worn on RAD headgear and remain collectible insignia from the pre-war period.
The reverse is marked “Ges. Gesch.” and dated 1937, indicating early production and legal design protection. Unlike later hollow wartime variants, this example is a solid pre-war construction, reflecting higher-quality manufacturing typical of the late 1930s.
The badge shows clear details and honest age-related wear consistent with a genuine period piece. The original attachment hardware remains present on the reverse. The original factory-applied finish has worn away over time, leaving a natural patina and surface corrosion consistent with long-term storage or ground recovery.
