Description
This authentic Sudetenland Medal (Medaille zur Erinnerung an den 1. Oktober 1938) was awarded to commemorate the annexation of the Sudetenland on October 1, 1938. The obverse depicts two figures standing on a pedestal bearing the national emblem, symbolizing unity and expansion. The reverse reads: “Ein Volk – Ein Reich – Ein Führer” with the date 1. Oktober 1938, marking the official incorporation of the Sudetenland into the German Reich.
Instituted in 1938, this medal was awarded to military personnel and civilians who participated in or supported the occupation of the Sudeten territory. It remains one of the most recognizable commemorative medals of the pre-war period.
This example retains its original ribbon in the correct black, red, and white colors. The medal shows strong detail and an attractive gold-toned finish, with honest age-related wear consistent with an original period piece. It is a genuine example and not a reproduction.
